OTIS - POSITIVELY SOUTHERN BLUES-FLAVORED ROCK’N’ROLL

Spreading positivity, celebrating their musical roots, and honoring the old masters; the OTIS Band, from Glasgow, Kentucky is all about playing honest music, taking chances, and promoting authentic self-expression.

With Steve Jewell, Jr. on guitar, Boone Froggett on guitar and vocals, John Seeley on Bass, and Andrew Gilpin on drums, the members of OTIS take pride in their Kentucky roots. Each grew up playing with his father’s band. Each learned to value the country rock, bluegrass, and folk music that is the fabric of the south.

Kentucky is bursting with music history and award-winning artists. Home to The Kentucky Head Hunters, Black Stone Cherry, Cage The Elephant, Merle Travis, Bill Monroe, Sam Bush, Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Dwight Yoakam, Exile, and My Morning Jacket to name a few, OTIS remains true to their Kentucky heritage while crafting their own spin on the southern rock that was revived in the nineties.

Cleopatra Records signed OTIS in 2017. Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top even handed out copies of their 2017 Eyes of the Sun album to strangers. Even more, the band’s blend of Southern blues-flavored rock’n’roll has attracted audiences worldwide. They’re adored by fans in Europe and were met with standing ovations every night on their 2018 European Tour. OTIS is touring seven countries in 2019.

They get their mojo by performing live. “It’s amazing to perform in front of a live audience and play for people who care,” states Jewell. “We communicate positive messages that people can relate to.”

Seems that OTIS band members practice what they preach. After more than seven years together, their marriage is full of respect and admiration for each other. “How lucky am I to play with the best musicians in the world, the best people in the world?” Steve Jewell, guitarist, beams. “We’re just four dudes in a room playing for our lives, the best that we can.”

You’ll find OTIS on Cleopatra Records, Amazon, Google Play, iTunes, and Spotify.
